Centre: We need 1 crore HCQ tablets in immediate future, we have 3.28 crore tablets

Health Ministry on Friday said that Hydroxychloroquine need for India in the immediate future is nearly 1 crore tablets amid the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country. "I would like to update that even after exporting, we have a reserve supply of 3.28 crore tablets for our immediate need," it further said. The government has issued a circular saying that it will not share any coronavirus related news with media now. Fearing of having Coronavirus, 20-year-old woman in Telangana sets herself ablaze

In Rajanna Siricilla district of Telangana, a 20-year-old engineering student identified as Dasari Sravanth allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze. She feared that she might have Coronavirus. According to Dasari’s mother, she committed suicide when no one was at home and she doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze. No migrant workers on road now: Centre reports to Supreme Court amid lockdown

In a statement today, the government has told the Supreme Court that there is no migrant worker on the road, a day after the SC sought a status report from the Centre on the measures taken to prevent the exodus in wake of 21-day lockdown. As of 11 am this morning, no one is on the road. Migrant workers have been taken to the nearest available shelter, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre told the Supreme Court.
