Mumbai: 6 Nigerians arrested for staying without visa

In Maharashtra, Mumbai city, six Nigerians who lived without a valid visa or other documents in the Nallasopara district have been arrested. The police teams, under the command of the District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP), carried out a verification of all foreign nationals after they had learned of Nigerians and Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the Vasai district. The police stated that five out of six Nigerians arrested had no valid documents relating to their entry into India; the sixth, on the other hand, was arrested for staying on a visa that had expired more than a year ago. Andhra Pradesh govt extends financial assistance to Hajj pilgrims

The Andhra Pradesh Government issued an order to provide financial assistance to Hajj pilgrims for expenses other than travel expenses. A release by the state govt read, INR 60,000 for pilgrims with an annual income of less than INR 3 lakh and INR 30,000 for pilgrims with an annual income of more than INR 3 lakh will be granted. Assam govt makes sanitary napkins mandatory in factories, industries

State Cabinet Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, in an interview, stated that the Assam govt has made it mandatory for all factories and industries to keep sanitary napkins in order to promote hygiene among working women. The decision was taken at the meeting of the Assam Cabinet chaired by CM Sarbananda Sonowal. Synthetic cumin factory busted, huge quantity of adulterated spice seized, 5 arrested

The Delhi Police busted a gang involved in the production of synthetic cumin and arrested five persons in connection with the case. Police also seized a large quantity of synthetic cumin and raw materials used in its manufacture. A senior police officer stated that surveillance was carried out on the basis of input at the local level. Subsequently, a trap was laid and a raid was carried out.
