Tough time will pass: Nitin Gadkari on economic slowdown

Recently Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has presented his views regarding the current economic meltdown. Gadkari in his own words said, "I know the industries are going through a tough time now. We want to increase the growth rate. recently, I met automobile manufacturers at all India convention of the automobile industry and all of them were little worried." He further said, "I told them, there are times of joy and times of sorrow, sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail. Life is a cycle." Not needed, capital will be pollution-free in 2 years: Nitin Gadkari

After Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced of applying the odd-even scheme in the National capital, The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari rejected this decision. Nitin in his own words, said, “Now there is no need for it (odd-even scheme) because the new ring road we have built is helping reduce pollution in Delhi to a certain extent. We are also setting up water and air purification units on the Yamuna river. My ministry is pursuing road works of about Rs 50,000 crore… I think Delhi will be pollution-free in two years”. We are implementing Motor Vehicles Act to create fear & respect for the law: Nitin Gadkari

Recently the Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari has said that the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act was created to create fear and respect for the law. In his own words, he said, "It isn't a revenue making proposal but a proposal to save lives. We will bring the old vehicle scrapping policy in a short period: Nitin Gadkari

Minister of Road, Transport, and Highways Nitin Gadkari, at an event in New Delhi, expressed, "We have already prepared the draft, but some of the problems are related with different stakeholders. We need cooperation from the manufactures and at the same time clearance from the Finance Ministry". Gadkari further said that his Ministry is trying its level best to clear it as early as possible. "I am confident that we will bring the scrapping policy in a short period", he added. The policy focuses to ban 20-year-old commercial vehicles with effect from April 1, 2020. The policy will allow the buyers to scrap their old vehicles and get a scrapping certificate following which they wouldn't have to pay the registration fee for their new vehicle.
