Centre releases Rs 251 Cr for Assam as flood affected 30 districts killing 20 people

In Assam, around 52.5 lakh people in 30 of the state's and 33 districts were affected by the flood. On the directions of PM Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Water resources Gajendra Singh Shekhawat conducted a meeting with CM Sarbananda Sonowal and informed about the release of Rs 251 Cr as the first installment to State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Shekhawat, in an interview, stated, "The floods in Assam are a concern for the entire country. BMC asked to demolish Mumbai building 2-yrs-ago that collapsed today

Amid tension over a collapsed 'Kesarbhai' building in Mumbai's Dongri area and after 12 people have lost their lives. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) gave its statement that in 7 August 2017, the officials of the BMC had asked in a letter to evacuate the building for demolition as the building was classified as 'C1'. The letter further stated, "In event of any mishap this office won't be responsible. A C1 category means the building is very dangerous and needs to be vacated immediately. AAP Govt built 23 flyovers in last 4.5 years: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, after inaugurating the 2.85 km signal-free new RTR Flyover, stated that in 15 years, 70 flyovers were made at the time of Sheila Dikshit's govt and AAP govt has built 23 flyovers in 4.5 years. Kejriwal further said that AAP govt has faith in doing its work overlooking dirty politics. Telangana: Police busts child trafficking racket, rescues 54 children

In Telangana's Rangareddy area, 54 children were rescued after Police busted a major child trafficking racket as part of 'Operation Smile'. The Police said that seven people have been arrested regarding the trafficking. When the patrolling team found two children standing nervously outside a hotel, they got suspicious. On inquiring, they were informed about other children working in a bangle making factory in the area. Eight teams of police raided 12 houses along with the bangle making factory and rescued the children.
