Woman who raised sexual misconduct allegation against former CJI Gogoi, reinstated by SC

According to sources, the Supreme Court has reinstated the woman staffer who had raised sexual misconduct allegations against former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. The woman had claimed victimization for resisting unwelcome advances when she was posted at the residence office of former CJI Gogoi in October 2018. She had joined SC in May 2014. She claimed that she was later transferred and then terminated from service. However, an inquiry into her complaint found that the allegations were false and former CJI has been given a clean chit. Delhi HC refuses to stay death warrant against Nirbhaya’s culprits on Jan 22

Delhi government has filed a petition in which they have mentioned that four convicts of Nirbhaya rape and a murdered case cannot be hanged on January 22 as a mercy petition filed by one of the convicts Mukesh Singh is pending. However, the Delhi High Court rejected the plea to put a stay on a death warrant against the culprits. The High Court said that there is nothing wrong with the trial court’s order on the death warrant. The top court further said that the petitioner can approach the trial court. Court grants bail to 12 protesters involved in violence during CAA protest in Seelampur

Today, Delhi Court has granted bail to Anti-CAA protesters who were allegedly involved in violence and damaging public properties during protest in Delhi's Seelampur area. The Additional Sessions Judge Lalit Kumar granted them bail on giving 15,000 bail bond to authorities. AMU decides to file FIR over police action against students

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-Chancellor has decided to file an FIR against police action against students on December 15. AMU spokesperson Rahat Abrar, in n interview, stated that a complaint letter in this regard is being drafted. Abrar further said that it has been observed that police caused a lot of damage on the campus and brutally assaulted students. The AMU administration had given them permission to enter the university to clear the gathering from the campus premises but not to enter the hostels to beat the students, Abrar added.
