Congress Working Committee to meet on Saturday to decide on party leadership

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet on August 10, over two months after Rahul Gandhi resigned from the president’s post. There is now intense pressure on the party’s leadership to name the new presidents at the earliest, as the process for the next round of Assembly elections will start soon. Although Rahul will remain the principal leader, the absence of a party president will place the candidates in an awkward condition. The confusion at the top has already caused tremendous damage to the party, fuelling rumors that PM Narendra Modi has succeeded in destroying the opposition. Src:https://bit.ly/2KknwX3
