No new emoji updates will be released in 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Unicode Consortium, the group behind emoji releases, has announced that due to Coronavirus pandemic, it's delaying the release planned for 2021 by six months. This essentially means the emoji version will likely be rolled out in 2022. However, the emoji that were announced earlier this year, including the transgender flag and Italian hand gesture, will be made available soon. Consortium president Mark Davis said in a statement, “This year we simply can’t commit to the same schedule we’ve adhered to in the past.” Src: https://engt.co/3e97nQY

Don't mention Markaz in bulletins: Delhi Minorities Commission to Health Department

Delhi Minorities Commission (DMC) Chairman Zafarul-Islam Khan wrote to the Delhi Health Department asking to stop naming Nizamuddin Markaz and drop any mention of "religious undertones" in its daily bulletins on coronavirus cases. In the letter, Khan said, "Such thoughtless classification is feeding into the Islamophobia agenda of the media and has been turned into a handle to attack Muslims.” The daily bulletins update the number of fresh coronavirus cases and deaths including figures of those who were evacuated from Tablighi Jamaat Markaz after they were stranded there due to the lockdown.
