Delhi govt to pay Class X, XII CBSE exam fee of 3.14 lakh students

The Delhi govt has approved a proposal to pay the CBSC Examination fee of Class X and XII students of the schools coming under its jurisdiction from the academic year 2019-2020. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the scope and coverage of this decision is to give complete subsidy to the students towards CBSE Board exam fees. As per media reports, the total exam fee of the students includes the fee payable towards practical exams for science stream and vocational subjects opted by the students of Class XII. No fee shall be collected from students on account of CBSC Board Exam fee. This will benefit around 3.14 lakh students and is expected to cost around Rs57.20 Cr. Src: https://bit.ly/2kTlR0D

The Dominican Republic Ambassador to India Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, in an interview, stated, "The Indian govt is doing a great job right now. There seems to be a positive approach in the future. I wish my good luck to S Jaishankar, who is heading the External Affairs Ministry. I'm very excited to work with him". Hans further said that he hopes to see several Indian missions to be opened in the Latin American region by 2020 which will consolidate the bilateral relations further and intensify the economic and trade relations with India. Transport strike against hefty fines in Delhi to be staged tomorrow

The United Front Transport Association will go on one day strike in Delhi-NCR to protest against the hefty penalties laid under the new Motor Vehicle Amendment 2019 Act. All the vehicles from taxi, bus, cabs, and auto-rickshaws will join the strike. The Noida Transport United Front will also participate in the strike. Due to the transport strike, some private schools in Delhi and NCR will remain shut tomorrow. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, however, has described the MV Act as biggest achievement of PM Modi 2.0. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday met PM Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi, where Banerjee first raised the issue of the name change of West Bengal and then sought the release of central funds Rs. 13,000 crore for her home state.
