In Tihar Jail, Tamil Nadu cops will not guard Chidambaram’s cell

Former finance minister P Chidambaram has been lodged in a separate cell in jail number 7 at Tihar. He has been placed under round-the-clock security and CCTV camera surveillance along with the Z-category security assigned to him. The Tamil Nadu police – which carries out security duty at Tihar – will not guard his cell. These personnel are deployed to create a language barrier for Tihar inmates, a majority of which are north Indians. Chidambaram will not face the barrier and hence will be allotted guards who can speak a different language from him. He will be allowed to take part in his bedding allocation and a wooden plank was also provided to him to sleep on. Src:https://bit.ly/2m3Fnb1
