2 lakh migrants from 16 states housed in 711 camps in West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said on Twitter that over 2 lakh migrant labourers and stranded people from 16 Indian states were being housed in 711 camps across the state. In her tweet, Mamata said that they are being directly taken care of by the state government along with the help of a few NGOs. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal today announced Operation SHIELD for coronavirus containment in 21 localities. SHIELD stands for sealing, home quarantine, isolation and tracing, essential supply, local sanitation and door-to-door checks. COVID-19 does not discriminate on basis of caste, religion: WB CM Mamata Banerjee

While speaking to reporters in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that COVID-19 does not discriminate on the basis of caste or religion. She said,"We have been witnessing that some people are indulging in communal politics over Nizamuddin event. This is completely unacceptable.” She further asked, "Why the gathering was not stopped when it was happening? This is not the time for communal politics.” On reports about the possibility of the 21-day nationwide lockdown getting extended, Ms Banerjee said she is not aware of any such proposal as of now. Punjab: Two police officers help woman deliver baby after 3 hospital refuses to let her in

30-year-old pregnant woman after being denied medical facilities by private and govt hospital in Punjab's Dharmakot, was helped by two patrolling officers who were on their duty. Jyoti riding pillion with her husband was struggling with to find hospital for three hours, three medical facilities did not not assisted her due to coronavirus patients in their hospital. Later, two police officer checked them on the check post and saw lady in the pain. They arranged for local nurse, wooden bench and woman from neighbourhood to help Jyoti to deliver a healthy baby.
