Congress welcomes e-cigarette ban, says decision taken to appease United States

The Congress party has welcomed the Centre's decision to ban e-cigarettes but asserted that the decision has been taken to appease the United States. Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken, stated, "The ban on an e-cigarette is a good decision. We welcome it. But we would like to ask the govt whether they ban other cigarettes and Pan Masala? If e-cigarette can be banned, why can't other cigarettes and Pan Masala be banned". Maken added that two days ago, Trump said e-cigarettes should be banned. Had the govt taken the step before his comments, we could have thought that the move was not aimed at appeasing Trump. This comes after Union Cabinet approved an ordinance for a ban on e-cigarettes.
