In Maharashtra's Pune city, Police have registered a case against a Pollution Under Control (PUC) centre operator for allegedly giving a PUC certificate (without checking pollution with the analysing machine) for Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari's car without checking it. RTO Commissioner Ajit Shinde, expressed, "The accused made a PUC certificate without following the due process. Hindi isn't the unifying force of India: Karti Chidambaram

Congress PM Kirti Chidambaram slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah and stated, "We, in Tamil Nadu, will never accept the imposition of Hindi. Hindi isn't the unifying force of this country. We will oppose the imposition of Hindi vociferously". Kirti further said that he will also participate in the protest conducted by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on September 20.
