8 Dalit men allegedly beaten up by Police in Gujarat; probe ordered

In Botad district's Vikaliya Village, 8 people were allegedly beaten up by police for violating the lockdown orders. The incident came in light after Congress MLA from Dasada Naushad Solanki revealed about it on Twitter. A close aide of the victim's family said that on March 25, one of their teenage boys had gone to get some milk from the market. A policeman had told him not to move out because of lockdown. At that time, the boy had told the policeman that he had gone to the market to fetch milk because it was needed in the family. This argument did not go down well with the policeman and he chased the boy to his house and then beat him. After two days 40-50 policemen came to their village, picked up 8 members from the house and took them to police station in Dhhasa where they were brutally beaten up and falsely booked for violating lockdown. An inquiry has been initiated against the police. Src: https://bit.ly/3dGLE2M
