Coronavirus particles from sneezing & coughing can persist in air for hours, study

Scientists from US' National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases have found that coronavirus particles from coughs and sneezes can remain in air for 3 hours. On plastic and stainless steel, viable virus could be detected after three days. On cardboard, the virus was not viable after 24 hours. On copper, it took 4 hours for the virus to become inactivated. WHO Official on India’s plan to tackle virus, says "Random Sampling Not Enough"

World Health Organisation’s Regional Director, in an interview, recently stated that random sampling is not enough to detect community transmission. The advice is "more and more testing", said the WHO representative. ICMR said the first 500 samples had tested negative and results of the rest 500 samples will be out on Wednesday. Currently, there are 72 functioning labs across the country in the ICMR system and 49 more government labs will be active by the end of this week. The Supreme Court asked Centre on the release of former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah. The bench said, “If you releasing him, then release him soon or we will hear his sister's plea against his detention on merit”. The top court informed that the matter will be heard next week. Class 1 to 8 govt school students will be promoted without exams: UP Govt amid Coronavirus

Due to increasing Coronavirus spread, Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to promote students of classes one to eight. The government has announced they will promote without having to appear in examinations. An official said it will be applicable for the government school students.
