Facebook working on developing its own OS to become independent from Google

According to reports, to become independent from Google, Facebook is developing its own operating system. Also, Facebook has given the task to build its own OS to Mark Lucovsky, the co-author of Microsoft's OS called Windows NT. Facebook's current OS work is part of a larger effort to make the company self-sufficient. In the future, Facebook's hardware products, like Oculus and Portal devices, could run on the OS. Facebook’s hard drives containing payroll information of 29,000 employees, stolen

Facebook has witnessed yet another privacy-related incident and this time the company's employees are affected. In the incident, a thief broke into a payroll worker's car and stole hard drives that reportedly contained unencrypted payroll information for around 29,000 current and former US employees who worked in 2018. It included information on employee names, banking details, salaries, bonus figures, stock information and the last four digits of social security numbers. Facebook decides Dollar 130 million to set up independent content supervising board

After facing criticism over its policy in handling the problematic content and transparency on decision-making, the social media giant Facebook has announced a fund of Dollar 130 million to set up an independent supervising board. The board will work even over-ruling Chief Mark Zuckerberg, for taking decisions on whether the individual pieces of content such as sensitive videos and ads will be displayed on the platform. Facebook allows users to directly export media from Facebook profile to Google Photos

The social media giant Facebook has announced a new feature for the platform which will allow the users to transfer their media directly to the Google photos. The new data transfer tool will allow the users to export their images in bulk to the Google photos app instead of downloading the media and uploading it one by one.
