What will be the new fines for various traffic violations?

The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019 has been passed by Rajya Sabha today. According to the proposed Amendments, various penalties have been revised under the Bill, driving without a licence will be fined Rs. 5,000 instead of Rs. 500 (old). For over-speeding, the fine will be Rs. 1,000 for LMV and Rs. 2,000 for Medium passenger vehicle. Drunken driving will be 10,000 instead of Rs. 2,000 (old). Rs,1000 will be fined instead of Rs. 100 (old) for not wearing a seat belt. Without Helmets the fine will be Rs. 1,000 and the licence will be disqualified for three months. Agra jail launches radio station for rehabilitation of inmates

In Uttar Pradesh, Agra district jail authorities have come up with a unique idea for rehabilitation and reformation of its prisoners and have propelled an internal radio. According to the SSP, Babloo Kumar, the radio station will be a source of entertainment for prisoners and it will be operated by a prisoner. Kumar further said that programs like special song request, health programs, and spiritual songs will be played which will help in reducing prisoner's stress. Pakistan offers consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, India evaluating proposal

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar over Pakistan offering consular access to retired Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav stated, "We have received a proposal from Pakistan. We are evaluating the proposal in the light of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) judgement. We will maintain communication with Pakistan in this matter through diplomatic channels". Earlier, ICJ had found Pakistan guilty of violating the Vienna Convention and ordered it to grant Jadhav consular access. Src: https://bit.ly/2YyXcw9

DGCA suspends 2 SpiceJet pilots for 1 year over unsafe landing

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has suspended two pilots of SpiceJet for one year regarding an accident involving Bhopal-Surat flight SG-3722 on June 30. The DGCA, in its probe, found that the crew (Rohan Sreemoola Nathan and Kanwal Jit Singh) proceeded unstabilised approach with high speed that prompted to runway excursion.
