After Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced of applying the odd-even scheme in the National capital, The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari rejected this decision. Nitin in his own words, said, “Now there is no need for it (odd-even scheme) because the new ring road we have built is helping reduce pollution in Delhi to a certain extent. We are also setting up water and air purification units on the Yamuna river. My ministry is pursuing road works of about Rs 50,000 crore… I think Delhi will be pollution-free in two years”. Rural Roads in Bihar to be constructed from Plastic Waste

Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has recently asked officials to maximize the use of plastic waste in the construction of rural roads in a review meeting of rural Works Department. Kumar said, “We have to improve our plastic waste management and also ensure environment conservation is maintained.” Moreover the Centre has asked all the states to use plastics in at least 10 per cent of its roads, and had made it mandatory for all road developers in the country to use plastic waste for road construction after Rajagopalan Vasudevan, a professor from Madurai’s Thiagarajar College of Engineering, suggested process of building roads with use of recycled plastic waste. Arvind Kejriwal announces of Odd-even rule back in Delhi between November 4-15 to tackle pollution

Aiming to eradicate pollution levels in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the comeback of odd-even vehicle scheme which will be implemented from November 4 to 15. Kejriwal mentioned in his announcement that Delhi government is in the process of procuring N-95 quality masks to be distributed among citizens in upcoming days, because "In Diwali, firecrackers cause massive pollution and the smoke gets trapped, as a result of which it becomes difficult to breathe in Delhi," says Kejriwal. Further, he added "There has been an improvement in Delhi's traffic ever since the new Motor Vehicle Act has been implemented.
