RBI launches MANI app to help visually impaired identify currency notes

Recently the central bank of India, RBI has launched the MANI (Mobile Aided Note Identifier) mobile app to help visually-impaired people identify the denomination of currency notes. As per the media reports, Users can freely download the app, called 'MANI' (Mobile Aided Note Identifier), from Android Playstore or iOS App Store which works in offline mode as well, once it is installed. SBI introduces OTP-based transaction for cash withdrawal above INR 10,000 from 1st Jan

In order to ensure the safety of its customers regarding ATM withdrawals from the risk of skimming & card cloning, the SBI has introduced OTP-based ATM withdrawals above INR 10,000. SBI has introduced an OTP-based cash withdrawal system across all SBI ATMs with effect from 1st January 2020, which will be functional from 8 PM to 8 AM. Customers at SBI ATMs, along with Debit Card PIN will also have to put OTP generated on their mobile numbers registered with the bank while withdrawing cash above INR 10,000. Indian Railways hikes fare, new rates effective from January 1

The Indian Railways has announced a fare hike across the country, excluding suburban trains, effective from January 1, 2020. As per an order issued by the railways, suburban fares will remain the same but normal non-AC, non-suburban fares have been hiked by 1 paise per km of journey. The railways have also announced a two paise/km hike in fares of mail/express non-AC trains and four paise/km hike in the fairs of AC classes. Premium trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto trains are included in the fare hike. The order included that there won’t be any change in the reservation fee and superfast charge and the hike in fare won’t be applicable to tickets previously booked. Src: https://bit.ly/37rTw4c
