Delhi govt to deploy 100 automated sewer pumps to eliminate manual scavenging

The Delhi govt has announced that it will deploy around 100 more automated jet sewer suction pumps in the state to eliminate manual scavenging. The machines are addition to 200 jet sewer suction that are already operational in Delhi. The Delhi govt announced that the owners of 200 jet sewer are already being provided 5 lakhs as financial assistance. “After the success of the first phase of the initiative, it has been decided that the Delhi government will deploy 100 more automated jet sewer sucking machines in addition to the 200 machines that were deployed earlier through an open bid by the Delhi Jal Board (sic),” the minister said in a statement". Instagram rolls out 'Restrict' feature to restrain bullies

Facebook-owned Instagram is releasing a new mode called "Restrict" globally that will let users stop people who bully them via offensive posts or abusive comments. As per Instagram, the user can restrict someone by swiping left on a comment, through the Privacy tab in Settings, or directly on the profile of the account you intend to restrict. The user can also choose to view the comment by tapping "See Comment", approve the comment so everyone can see it. The direct message will automatically move to Message Request, and users will not receive notification from a restricted account. As per media reports, Instagram is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect bullying and other types of harmful content in comments, photos, and videos. Do you agree with Instagram's new feature? Abhinandan Varthaman's 51 Squadron to be awarded unit citation

Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's 51 Squadron will be awarded unit citation by Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria for thwarting Pakistani aerial attack and shooting down their F-16 fighter aircraft on Feb 27, 2019. As per media reports, the award is slated to be received by commanding officer Group Captain Satish Pawar on October 8. During Pakistan's counter-attack on India in response to the Balakot airstrike, Abhinandan flew a MiG-21 Bison fighter into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and was grounded due to ejection from his MiG-21 which was shot down in the aerial conflict with Pakistan Air Force f-16s. Mizoram to have broad gauge rail line by 2021: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while inaugurating the handloom and handicraft exhibition organised by the North East Council in Mizoram's Aizawl district, expressed, "BJP has allocated more budget for Mizoram than the UPA govt. The Congress had during the 13th Finance Commission allocated Rs 19,974 Cr to the state, while Modi-led govt in the 14th Finance Commission accorded Rs 42,972 Cr for the state's development". Shah further said that in the last five years, a lot of projects came to fore in Mizoram. A broad gauge railway line will be brought to Aizwal by 2021. The work for 1,700 km National Highway (NH) has also started.
