Salary increase in India this year will be at slowest pace since 2009 with 9.1%: Report

According to a survey by Aon, salary increases across India's organized sector have been projected to grow at the slowest pace since 2009 this year. The survey claims that companies will increase average pay by 9.1% in 2020, down from 9.3% in 2019 and 9.5% in 2018. The survey covered more than 1,000 companies across over 20 industries. E-commerce companies and start-ups will probably get the biggest salary increases, projected at an above-average 10%, while financial institutions will hand out 8.5%. Src: https://bit.ly/39LqwFK

Nirbhaya Case convict Mukesh Singh asked mercy from president

Recently Mukesh Singh, who is one of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case whose execution is just a week away has filed a mercy petition to President Ram Nath Kovind. Unless the appeal is accepted, he, along with three other convicts in the case, is to be hanged at 7 am on January 22. The other three convicts hadn’t applied for the same. Delhi court issues death warrant to 4 guilty in Nirbhaya case, to be hanged on 22nd Jan

A Delhi Court released the death warrant for the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case of 2012. The hanging of the four convicts will take place on the 22nd of January at 7 AM. A review petition was filed by one of the four convicts against the death penalty given to him by the Supreme Court in its 2017 verdict but the victim’s mother challenged the plea and the Supreme Court rejected the review. President Kovind rescues couple who were given 48 hours to change the wedding venue

US resident Ashley Hall came down to India with the plan of a wedding at a five-star hotel Taj in Kochi, but later the couple was given 48 hours to change their wedding venue as President Ramnath Kovind planned a sudden trip to Kochi and planned to stay in the same hotel. Ashley later took the matter to Twitter and addressed the President for help. As things turned out she got a reply from Rashtrapati Bhavan and President’s security was scaled down and he left Kochi on Tuesday morning to avoid any inconvenience to the wedding party.
