Income Tax raids LaLit Hotel chain owner & MD, Jyotsna Suri premises

The Income Tax department on Monday conducted raids at premises linked to Bharat Hotels Chairperson and Managing director Jyotsna Suri and her associates in connection with an alleged tax evasion case. An I-T official stated that eight premises are being searched, including that of Suri and her associates. SC issues notice to UP govt on plea challenging name change of Allahabad to Prayagraj

Chief Justice S A Bobde, justice B R Gavai and Surya Kant have sent the notice to Uttar Pradesh government after a plea filed by the Allahabad Heritage Society about challenging the name change of Allahabad to Prayagraj. In 2018 the state government had officially changed the name of the Allahabad district to Prayagraj and the decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Delhi Court convicts owner Brajesh along with 18 others in Muzzaffarpur Bihar Shelter case

The Delhi Court has convicted Brajesh Thakur, who ran the shelter in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur along with 18 other people. It was confirmed that in shelter 35 girls were raped and physically assaulted for several months. The convicts were found guilty under the POCSO act. In 19 out of 20 accused, 8 were women and 12 were men including former Bihar People’s Party MLA. According to a report, CBI informed the top court that convicted may have killed 11 girls. 24-yr-old allegedly gang-raped by 3 men, boyfriend beaten up at a park in TN

Recently another rape case has been registered in which a 24-year-old woman was gang-raped and her boyfriend was beaten up by three men at knifepoint at a public park adjoining the Vellore Fort situated in Tamil Nadu. As per the media reports, the girl went to the park along with her male friend on Saturday evening. The gang assaulted the boy before raping the girl.
