NASA's lunar orbiter to pass over Vikram site on moon, likely to send images of lander

Amid establishing communication with the Vikram lander on the moon, NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (RLO) will pass over the Vikram's landing site. LRO's project scientist Noah Petro stated that according to NASA's policy, all LRO data is publicly available and NASA will be sharing flyover images of the area around Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander site to support the analysis made by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Earlier, NASA's RLO high-resolution camera had taken an aerial image of the Apollo 11 landing site on the moon with enough clarity to understand the footprints of the astronauts more than 40 years ago.
