Uttar Pradesh: Woman along with 3-month-old daughter burnt alive by in-laws for dowry

In Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district, a woman (Shabnam) and her 3-year-old daughter lost their lives after they were allegedly burnt alive by her in-laws over demand of dowry. As per the victim's brother Mohammad Javed, "They used to torture her and they called her at home from her father's home and burnt her along her daughter". Javed further said that her sister's in-laws didn't inform about the whereabouts of Shabnam and her daughter. The police have registered a case of dowry and murder and the investigation will be done on the basis of evidence. Air pollutants inhaled by mothers found on unborn babies' placentas

Belgium's Hasselt University researchers have recently made a claim of finding air pollution particles on the fetus side of the placenta (an organ in the uterus). The reason behind this is said to be the black carbon which is inhaled by mothers, which has gone to an unborn child. As per the media reports, the study comprised 28 placentas from non-smoking women in the town of Hasselt. The particle pollution levels were below the EU limit but above the WHO limit. Madhya Pradesh: Illegal factory making fake medicines for increasing milk productivity busted, one arrested

In Madhya Pradesh's Indore city, the police have arrested a person for running an illegal factory making fake medicines to boost buffaloes milk productivity. As per media reports, after receiving information, the police called the drug department for the investigation of medicines found in large quantity in the illegal factory. The reports added that around 4,000 bottles of medicines, 16 bottles of Phenyl, 3 acidic acid canes, 300 I tanker, and packing materials were seized by the police. These materials were sold to other licenced companies in packed bottles weighing from 100 ml to 200 ml. The accused included, "I have not taken any licence, did not have any knowledge about it. Rajnath Singh flies LCA Tejas fighter, becomes first Defence Minister to fly in fighter jet

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flew in homemade Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas that took off from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport. As per media reports, Singh has become the first Defence Minister to fly in the fighter jet. Project Director, National Flight Test Centre, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Air Vice Minister N Tiwari accompanied Singh in the familiarization sortie. Before the flight, Singh on his Twitter handle stated, "All set for the day".
