West Bengal becomes 4th state to pass resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act

West Bengal has become the fourth state to pass resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The Trinamoool Congress government presented the resolution in the house. Loud slogans were raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah during discussions on the resolution. Left-ruled Kerala and Congress-led Punjab and Rajasthan have already passed similar resolutions demanding the withdrawal of the law. Other states includes, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar which have claimed that they will not implement the Citizenship Amendment Act or the NRC and NPR. Src: https://bit.ly/2RsyRHX

Sensex crosses 42000 mark for the first time, Nifty records all-time high of 12,389.05

Domestic stock markets rose to all-time highs with the S&P BSE Sensex index crossing 42,000 for the first time ever today, a day after the US and China signed the first phase of a trade deal. The Sensex rose as much as 186.72 points to touch 42,059.45 in the first hour of trade for the first time, and the broader NSE Nifty benchmark index climbed to as high as 12,389.05, up 45.75 points which was also a record high. Girl found alive after being buried for 18 hours under snow in POK

A 12-year-old girl identified as Samina Bibi was recovered after being buried for 18 hours when an avalanche in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir engulfed the family house. Samina said that she recalled screaming and shouting for help as she lay trapped in a room under the snow. She even claimed that she thought she'd die under the snow. The death toll from avalanches in Pakistan’s Neelum Valley, in the Himalayan region disputed by Pakistan and India has risen to 74 as rescuers continued to recover bodies.
