India exports protective gear & medical equipments to Serbia amid shortage

India has exported 90 tons of medical equipments including protective gear, surgical gloves, masks and coveralls to Serbia at time when there is already a huge crunch here in the country. The information was discovered after a tweet from the Serbian wing of UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) which is the providing support to coronavirus-effected nations. However, Health ministry dismissed the information. "The 2nd cargo Boeing 747 with 90t of medical protective equipment landed from India to Belgrade today. The transportation of valuable supplies purchased by @SerbianGov  has been fully funded by the #EU while @UNDPSerbia organized the flight & ensured the fastest possible delivery," the tweet by UNDP read. Centre launches portal to help foreign tourists stranded in India amid lockdown

As per reports, Ministry of Tourism has launched a portal to help the foreign tourists who are stranded in India amid the lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic. The portal strandedinindia.com consists of the information that will be useful for the tourists in their time of need like COVID-19 helpline numbers and a support section to get further information and connecting foreign tourists to the concerned authorities. 227 COVID-19 cases reported in 24 hours, rise due to lack of support in some areas: Govt

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal on Tuesday said that 227 new cases of Coronavirus and three deaths have been reported in India in last 24 hours. He added that the increase in cases has been seen because of "lack of support by people in some locations". Further, India had reported 92 new Coronavirus cases and four deaths on Monday. No migrant workers on road now: Centre reports to Supreme Court amid lockdown

In a statement today, the government has told the Supreme Court that there is no migrant worker on the road, a day after the SC sought a status report from the Centre on the measures taken to prevent the exodus in wake of 21-day lockdown. As of 11 am this morning, no one is on the road. Migrant workers have been taken to the nearest available shelter, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre told the Supreme Court.
