Cops lathi-charge and uses tear gas on student protesting over Citizenship Bill in Assam

After the Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed in Lok Sabha, a large group of students started protesting and marching on the road against the Citizenship Bill in Guwahati. A clash between students and police occurred when the students tried to break the barricades. After that, the police were forced to lathi-charge on students and use teargas shells on them. During the protest, demonstrators pelted stone and in retaliation police fired rubber bullets on them. Due to escalated tension in the state, the government has imposed a curfew. Centre withdraws paramilitary forces from J&K after law and order situation improves

The Union Government has started withdrawing paramilitary forces from the J&K on the basis that the law and order of the union territory have improved. The central government decided to move at least 20 companies of CRPF from J&K to Assam, 10 of which have already been sent to Assam. The Central Government has also started a train to facilitate the movement of personnel to Assam. Google India has recently released its annual Year ‘Search 2019’ list in several categories including movies, personalities, songs, sports events, and news. Ranu Mondal, who became a rising star after a video of her singing at a railway station went viral topped the list. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman took the first place of the ‘Search 2019’ list. PhonePe receives INR 586 crore funding from Flipkart as it battles market rivals

As PhonePe is battling in the market against rivals Google Pay, Paytm and Amazon Pay, the parent company Flipkart has invested INR 585.66 crore in its digital payments arm. The news of the funding in PhonePe has come amid reports that Flipkart owner Walmart Inc. is planning to make PhonePe a separate entity, which would help the payments firm raise funds independently.
