Mumbai: '1 Rupee Clinic' Delivered Baby at Dombivli Railway Station

A 29-year-old lady passenger traveling towards Cama Hospital delivered a baby boy on a platform of Dombivli railway station today. The woman was attended to by the doctors and nurses of what are known as 1 Rupee Clinic. These clinics provide timely medical assistance to passengers at a token charge of 1 Rupee. Due to heavy rains, trains on the central line were late by 10-15 minutes. There has been continual water logging in low-lying areas like Kurla, Matunga, Sion, and others. Src-https://bit.ly/2Xmzbgb

Sukhbir Badal: Pak creating 'obstacles' for Kartarpur corridor

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has said Pakistan is creating obstacles for the proposed Kartarpur corridor and urged it to remove these obstacles speedily. Badal said, " The Indian government is monitoring projects on a weekly basis. We are ready for our pilgrims to go to Pakistan by October 30. Whereas, the Pakistan side work is very slow." Pakistan is now claiming that people can visit the holy place only during and would need to pay fees and have visas. The next meeting on the Kartarpur corridor will be held on July 14. Rajya Sabha Passes a Bill Allowing Trusts to Set Up Units in SEZs

The Rajya Sabha cleared the Special Economic Zones (Amendment). The SEZ Bill 2019 replaced an ordinance of March 2019, which amended the SEZ Act of 2005. The present provisions of the SEZs Act, 2005, do not permit ‘trusts’ to set up units in SEZs. The amendment will enable trusts to be considered for a grant of permission to set up units in SEZs. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal told the total investment proposed by these trusts comes out to be Rs8,000 crores and will help to boost investment and employment generation. Rs1,500 crore to be Invested by RIL in Jio Institute

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is planning to invest Rs 1,500 crore in its pioneer project, Jio Institute, in the next two years, it has informed the government's Empowered Expert Committee (EEC). The Indian multinational is looking to create a world-class center of learning across 800 acres in Karjat near Navi Mumbai. The company also informed the government that it is in talks with the academic and institutional experts at Stanford University and Northwestern University in the US as well as Nanyang Technological University in Singapore for setting up the facility.
