Delhi: Kejriwal's DDC to establish task force to ensure women's safety in public transport

The Dialogue and Development Commission has established a task force to guarantee safety, and improve the quality of commuting for women travellers in public transport in Delhi. DDC Vice Chairperson, Jasmine Shah said, "The task force will direct both off and on the ground reviewing and monitoring of all existing schemes for women's safety in Delhi, and propose new plans for reinforcing women's safety in the capital." This statement came after Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal, chaired the ninth meeting of the 'Task Force on Women Safety Issues' at Raj Niwas.

SC rejects urgent hearing of PIL demanding re-election with Ballot paper

The Apex Court’s vacation bench headed by Justice Ajay Rastogi and Surya Kant has denied urgent hearing of a PIL which demands fresh Lok Sabha election with Ballot Papers. The petitioner Manohar Lal Sharma argued that 'as per Representation of Peoples Act' election can be conducted only by using ballot papers and not EVMs.

Six District of Maharashtra soon to be diesel-free: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that soon the six districts of Maharashtra will be diesel free for the next five years. Talking about his initiative, Gadkari said, “I have taken up a program to make six districts- Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Wardha diesel free”. The Minister said that he has planted six factories which will make bio-CNG for trucks and buses.

Chandrayaan-2 Mission delayed due to policy differences under UPA 2: Ex-ISRO chief

Former ISRO chairman and BJP leader G Madhavan Nair, in an interview, said, "Though the delay is not a serious issue. Chandrayaan-1 was launched 10 years back and a follow-up mission was Chandrayan-2 was initially planned to be launched in 2012, but due to policy differences under the UPA 2 government, it was delayed." Madhavan further said, "But under the NDA government, Modi Ji has given the greatest push to such projects like space mission under the leadership of the current Chairperson of ISRO, Dr. Sivan. I would like to congratulate ISRO for preparing such a complicated satellite."
