Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the Centre for imposing increased penalties under the Motor Vehicle Act 2019. Yadav on his Twitter handle stated, "The new rule of challans implemented by the BJP ruled state govt's are anti-people and oppressive. The BJP implemented this act only in those places where it can challenge the decisive leadership and can take strict action". Yadav added that it is a beginning among BJP leaders to oppose excessive centralisation.
