Curfew lifted from Guwahati, broadband services resumed after days of CAA protest

Recently the Assam government has lifted the curfew in Guwahati which was imposed on December 11, in the wake of protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. As per the media reports, the internet service, which had been suspended was also restored across the state from Tuesday morning. In addition to this, the trains going to or via Assam is also running up and down from today morning. Jitendra Singh, the Union minister for the northeast, tweeted about the decisions in the morning. Bengaluru woman duped of INR 11 lakh by Instagram friend on pretext of sending jewellery

A Bengaluru woman has been duped of Rs 11 lakh from an Instagram friend from London, who pretended to gift her jewellery worth Rs 58 lakh via a courier company. The accused identified as Daniel first approached the victim on Instagram in November. According to the woman's complaint, she received multiple calls from Daniel and a man who claimed to be a Custom official from Delhi Airport, demanding money in parts for jewellery delivery. First, she was asked to pay 55,000, then 2.25 lakh, later was asked to pay 5.5 lakh, but when she was called to pay 12 lakh, the victim and her family realized that they have been cheated. Breaking: ex-Pakistan Dictator Pervez Musharraf sentenced to death for 2007 sedition

Ex-Pakistan Army Chief and former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has been given a death sentence by a Pakistan special court in Lahore. The sentence was given under the charges of sedition as in 2007 Musharraf became the President of Pakistan and using his military power abrogated the constitution to declare an emergency in the country. 'Violent suppression' Harvard students write letter in solidarity with Jamia, AMU students

More than 100 students of Harvard have written a letter to the BJP government showing solidarity with the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The letter read, the violent suppression of protesters by the police, the use of teargas and physical assault in response to peaceful dissent, and the police forces which forceful entry into university campuses and consequent Internet blockades there, are all deeply reprehensible. The Harvard students expressed that CAA is a regrettable act of legislation.
