Police filed a case against JNU students after protests

The Delhi Police have registered an FIR against the students who protest outside the parliament. The case was registered under Section 186 and Section 353 for damaging public places. During the protest around 30 police personnel and 15 students were injured. The students alleged that the police did lathi-charge on them a however, the top police officer denied the claim. Some deceleration but India is still fastest-growing economy among G-20 nations: Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told Lok Sabha that, despite some recent deceleration in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, India is still projected by the World Economic Outlook to grow at the fastest rate in 2019-20 among G-20 nations. Sitharaman added, the average growth rate in 2014-19 was 7.5%, which is the highest in the G-20. She included, in order to increase the country's GDP growth, the govt has taken a number of measures to address moderate levels of fixed investment in the economy, a slowdown of private consumption, and modest export performance. JNU protest: Around 100 students detained; Delhi police refutes lathi-charge allegations

Thousands of JNU students started their protest march to the Parliament yesterday, demanding full fee rollback along with other demands. As the police tried to stop them, some agitated groups attempted to forcibly break the barricades. After this, 100 students were arrested for displaying violent resistance to police orders. The police officials claimed that the Delhi police personnel continued to act with caution, and despite continued resistance by some student groups, methods of mediation were restored, and there was no use of water cannons, tear gas shells or lathi-charge.
