Airtel admits to have repaired flaw in its mobile app breaching privacy of users

Airtel has admitted that it has fixed a serious security flaw in its app named Airtel Mobile App. The app could have put the data security of around 300 million users of the company’s telecom services, at stake. The flaw was in the app’s API (Application Programming Interface) which could have allowed malicious parties to get access to the personal data of the users like name, emails, residential address, contact and the IMEI number of the device on which the app was installed. Bharti Airtel to raise $3 billion as India seeks levy from telcos

Recently the Indian telecom operator, Bharti Airtel said that they will raise up to $3 billion via debt and equity. The reason the company claimed behind this was company is looking forward for ways to pay down overdue fees owed to the government. Last month, Airtel and industry peer Vodafone Idea Ltd were warned that their ability to operate and make profits will depend on relief from the government. Airtel raises mobile call and data charges by up to 42% from December 3

It was recently confirmed by the media reports that the Bharti Airtel is all set to soar the prices of its services. Bharti Airtel official said they will raise the prices of call and data plans for pre-paid customers from December 3. Bharti Airtel's new plans will cost up to 42% more compared to the price that its pre-paid customers pay at present for plans in the "unlimited" category. Bharti Airtel confirms INR 23,044.9 crore loss in the September quarter

The 2nd largest telecom provider Bharti Airtel has reported a loss in its operation in the quarter ended on September 30 this year. The company revealed that it faced a loss of INR 23,044.9 crore in the quarter whereas company earned INR 118.8 crores in the corresponding quarter of last year. The total revenue for the company in the second quarter of this year locked at INR 21,131.3 crores.
