Nine-judge SC bench to hear Sabarimala temple review petitions today

Today, a nine-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court (SC) will hear the batch of petitions seeking review of the 2018 judgement in Sabarimala temple case, which permitted girls and women of all age groups to visit the temple. As per media reports, on January 6, the top court had given a notification informing about the listing. Earlier on December 13, the SC had said that its 2018 order on Sabarimala temple issued was not final as the matter is pending before a seven-judge bench, which, it had stated, will be constituted soon. 10,000 people protest against CAA in event ‘Million March’ on the streets of Hyderabad

In Hyderabad, 10,000 protesters were gathered and protested against CAA, NRC, and NPR. It was organized by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee, named as ‘Million March’. Slogans like ‘No to CAA, NRC’, ‘ Inquilab Zindabad’ and ‘We want Azadi from dictatorship’ were raised. For the event, Hyderabad police gave permission only gathering 1,000 people. Sushil Kumar Modi announces NPR in Bihar, between May 15-28; no objection, says JDU

BJP leader Sushil Kumar has announced to conduct data for the National Population Register (NPR) in Bihar. It will be conducted between May 15 - 28. Kumar said that every state has to do it as it is a legal process and no one can oppose it. He informed that if someone did then the state or person will be punished with three years in prison with a penalty.
