Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh and Parsi migrants who have entered India illegally-that is, without a visa-on or before December 31, 2014, from the Muslim-majority countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and have stayed in the country for five years, are eligible to apply for Indian citizenship. The National Register of Citizens (NRC) is a register of all Indian citizens whose creation is mandated by the 2003 amendment of the Citizenship Act, 1955. Its purpose is to document all the legal citizens of India so that the illegal migrants can be identified and deported. It has been implemented for the state of Assam starting in 2013–2014. The Government of India plans to implement it for the rest of the country in 2020.

22-year-old man raped and murdered 90-year-old woman in Telangana

A shocking incident occurred in Nalgonda district of Telangana, where a 99-year-old woman was raped and murdered by 22-year-old Satrasala Shankar inside her house. The incident took place when the victim was alone at her house after her daughter-in-law went outside. According to the victim’s family, the accused was in a drunken condition.
