Construction work on Kartarpur Corridor resumes

Work on the Kartarpur Corridor, which was suspended over payment issues between contractors and laborers, has resumed. Workers continued work on the route connecting Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan. India and Pakistan are scheduled to hold technical-level talks on the corridor on Friday at Zero Point, despite tensions between two countries in the wake of New Delhi's move to abrogate Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The talks will be aimed at narrowing their differences on the corridor for visa-free travel of Sikh pilgrims. Src: https://bit.ly/2PpDYcZ

Gaganyaan inaugural flight in 2022 will not have any women astronauts on board

The inaugural flight of India's Gaganyaan mission is unlikely to have any woman astronaut because ISRO is looking at test pilots from the armed forces and none of them have any women in that post. The Indian Space Research Organisation has begun the process of short-listing probable candidates for its first manned mission and it should be completed by next month, he said. "Most maiden missions undertaken by different countries in the past had test pilots. So we are also looking at test pilots from the armed forces which don't have a woman as test pilots," the official said. Do you believe that ISRO is right in excluding women from its future endeavor? "We are in touch with the Pakistani side through diplomatic channels. Based on the judgment of the International Court of Justice we have asked for immediate, effective and unhindered access. We are awaiting the response from the Pakistani side," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said. India had earlier moved ICJ after Jadhav, a retired Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court. Src:https://bit.ly/2Ulp6LI
