Delhi govt installs CCTVs, panic buttons, GPS in 5,500 state buses for women safety

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, while briefing media about the Cabinet's decision, expressed that for the safety of women commuters, the Delhi govt will develop one command centre for all DTC and cluster buses. Kejriwal further said that each bus will have 3 CCTV cameras, 10 panic buttons and an Automatic Vehicle Location System (GPS). He added that initially, these systems will be installed in 100 buses by the end of the month, and all 5,500 buses will be covered within seven months. 26/11 survivor Moshe touched to receive PM Modi’s letter

On the occasion of Bar Mitzvah (similar to Indian thread ceremony), Moshe Tzvi Holtzberg, who was two-and-a-half years old when his parents were killed by Pakistani terrorists during 26/11 Mumbai attacks, was touched by the heartwarming letter sent by PM Narendra Modi. Also, the Indian Ambassador with his whole team of diplomats graced the occasion. Moshe lived with his parents in Mumbai when he was rescued in a daring move by his nanny, Sandra Samuels, who was hiding in a room downstairs during 26/11 Mumbai attacks and the pictures of nanny holding the little boy close to her chest was reported widely. Sandesh Meshram begins 7,500 km cycle rally to garner support for ‘Freedom of Tibet’

Sandesh Meshram, who already started his voyage from Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala on December 1, is all set to cycle 7,500 kilometers across the nation to gather support and create awareness for 'Freedom of Tibet'. Meshram will ride on his cycle with 'Free Tibet, Save India' written over it and will conclude his awareness trip in Karnataka's Mungod district on March 10, 2020, on Tibetian National Uprising Day. Hyderabad Metro permits women to carry pepper spray for self-defense

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited authorities yesterday announced that women traveling in metro trains in the city from now on can carry pepper spray with them for self-defense. The decision was taken in the wake of the latest incident of a 26-year old veterinarian who was allegedly raped and murdered on the outskirts of Hyderabad last week. It was further decided to direct all the police stations to register any complaint of missing women and children immediately, without bothering about jurisdictions (zero FIR).
