How the Govt used a subsection of Article 370 to end special status to J&K

Home Minister Amit Shah used a subsection in Article 370 to make it inactive in Jammu and Kashmir. Under section 3 of Article 370, the President can declare the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir inoperative at any time. Article 370(3) reads, " The President may, by public notification, declare that this article shall cease to operate, as he may specify" Article 370 accords special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of scrapping Article 370, the government used the power given by the same Article to the President to make the provision ineffective. Src:https://bit.ly/2YJ68mx
