'Kamal Haasan is a good actor, he can be a CM only in films', says Tamil Nadu minister

Veteran AIADMK leader and Tamil Nadu’s co-operation minister Sellur K Raju took a swipe at actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder Kamal Haasan on Saturday, saying that he could only be a chief minister only in movies. Raju said, “Kamal Haasan is a good actor. However, people are not ready to accept him”. The AIADMK leader also claimed that people were not taking the MNM chief as a serious politician. In response, MNM spokesperson Murali Abbas said the minister’s statement showed that AIADMK is afraid of them. Src:

Badminton player H. S. Prannoy slams Arjuna Award snub

CWG gold medallist Shuttler HS Prannoy questioned the criteria for Arjuna Award selection. Reacting to not being nominated for Arjuna Award he tweeted, "If you ever want your name in the Awards list, make sure you have people who will get your name to the list. Performance is least considered in our country. Sad state of our county but can't help it. Let go and just play until you can". According to the Badminton Association of India, it did not recommend Prannoy's name for the Arjuna Award to the Sports Ministry on the ground that he did not have any credible performance last year. Lucknow's Iconic Hazratganj Chauraha Is Now "Atal Chowk"

The Uttar Pradesh government on the occasion of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's first death anniversary on Friday renamed Lucknow's famous Hazratganj Chauraha to 'Atal Chowk'. Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said, "As the Mayor of the city, we have prepared a draft for developing a memorial for him, Atal Smriti Upvan.
