Centre denies age relaxation in EWS quota

The central government has said that upper caste candidates eligible for the 10 % reservation under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category would not be provided age relaxation or additional attempts in government jobs and educational institutions. In a letter, Minister of State, Jitendra Singh has said that age relaxation is given to a group if it fails to compete with other categories despite the reservation. It is given only after observing whether the required number of persons from a particular category are not allotted in the reserved posts. Src:

Truecaller accused of reading users' SMS to check who needs a loan

Recently a software developer named 'Nemo' has accused Swedish call-blocking app 'Truecaller' of reading users' messages to check if they need a loan over a social media website. According to Nemo, Truecaller uses a third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to parse through its users’ phone messages to do an offline credit scoring for each user. Recently Truecaller was also accused of a bug which linked unspecified Indian users to its payments service without consent. Src:

Uttar Pradesh: Ward boy arrested for raping minor in hospital premises

In Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj region, a ward boy, employed at the Government Medical College was arrested for allegedly raping a minor. According to the victim's father, a ward boy (Ravi Gautam) forcibly took his daughter to the fourth floor of the hospital and raped her. When her daughter resisted, the accused threatened to throw her down from the building. A police officer stated that based on the complaint, the accused was arrested and the victim has been sent for medical treatment. Src:

Lift curfew and see J&K is celebrating or mourning: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad talking on the revocation of Article 370 stated, "Let them lift the curfew and communication blockage, then they will know whether Jammu and Kashmir is celebrating or mourning". Azad also asserted that thousands of people were on streets in Kargil protesting against the measures taken by the government. He also slammed his fellow party leader who broke ranks with the party and upheld the govt on what he called "destruction of the state".
